The Home Buying Process
There’s a lot to know when it comes to buying a home ??. Whether you’re buying your first place, moving to a bigger house or downsizing, moving is one of the biggest decisions we make in life. ??
Many people find shopping for a new home stressful, frustrating and time-consuming. Your realtor’s goal should be to make this a fun and exciting process, while making it as smooth as possible.
There are a few basic steps to follow when considering buying a home in FL:
Step 1: Choose a realtor to represent you….it will cost you NOTHING! That’s right. As a Buyer, you do not pay realtor fees and you still get the professional representation during your transaction. ?? The right expert will ensure you have every bit of information at your fingertips as you begin your search, and walk you through every possible aspect of the property purchase process. After all, Why should you discount experience for your most important investment….when its really is costing you $0?!??
Step 2: Get Pre-approved for a mortgage. ??. For most of us, our home is the most expensive thing we’ll ever buy. And for most of us, we need one big loan to do it—a mortgage. It is most important for YOU to know exactly what your financial power is ?? and what you will be committing to as far and monthly payments for the length of the loan. If you are serious about buying and you do not have a lender, ask your realtor, they can refer you to one.
Step 3: House hunting time!?? – Your realtor will give you access to the MLS portal, where you can browse for homes real time. However, most of the time your will feel more comfortable looking at houses on other websites. ?? Buyer beware??….some online sites do not have the accurate information about the houses published. Always make sure to send everything you see online to your realtor to confirm all the details of the properties you are interested in. It will save you time!
Step 4: The #househunting efforts have paid off and you found the house you LOVE ??! Now you have decided to make an offer. Do not be intimidated by the paperwork, negotiations or bidding wars. The FL market is hot ??. Houses well priced usually don’t last very long. During negotiations, you may need to compromise on small things, but a good real estate agent will work hard to get you what you want ??.
Step 5: Closing day! ?? This is the day when the property gets transferred from the seller to you. Make sure your realtor and/or title company provides you with the final figures and costs before closing day so you don’t get caught off-guard. This is the day where a new chapter of your life begins! Mark your calendar….this day, YOUR WILL BECOME A HOMEOWNER!??
